Making people care about a brand they never chose. THE CHALLENGE Nobody thinks about their utility company until something goes wrong. And unlike most brands, Evergy isn't competing for customers — it's the only option. Traditional advertising wasn't going to change perception. The challenge was finding a way to make a highly functional service feel human, memorable, and relevant in people's everyday lives. THE APPROACH Rather than talking about electricity, we talked about people. "How Do You Take Your Energy?" reframed energy as something personal — reflected in routines, personalities, and the small rituals that shape everyday life. Through a series of character-driven spots set in familiar environments, the campaign used humor and relatability to create an emotional connection with a category not typically known for one.
